The Touring Fund for Theatre and Dance closes to applications at 23:59 on Friday 5 February 2021.
Funding to support outdoor and non-conventionally staged work that complies with Covid-19 restrictions.
This round of the Touring Fund - for outdoor and non-conventionally staged work - is specifically designed to respond to the limitations in place within the dance, theatre and touring landscape, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic and associated restrictions. This round of the fund therefore seeks to support venues, theatres, artists, companies and producers to present shows that will allow them to re-engage with their audiences in innovative ways while still complying with ongoing restrictions during 2021.
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions and the high level of uncertainty that currently exists, we appreciate that forward plans for touring need to be flexible. Current restrictions forbid all public gatherings, but it is likely - and we are all hopeful - that there will be potential for some kind of live performance presentation at some point in 2021. Longer term restrictions on numbers, social distancing and settings will inevitably continue to apply for some time. Please consider these risks in your application and risk assessment as much as you can at this stage.
With the above in mind, we are also extending the delivery period for projects supported by this fund to end March 2022 and will no longer be prioritising work to be delivered before 31 October 2021.
Please read the guidelines below for full information about this fund before applying.
The overall budget for this round of the Touring Fund for Theatre and Dance is £600k.
There are no upper or lower limits on the amount an applicant can apply for.
The Performing Artist's Audience Handbook is useful for applicants applying to the Touring Fund for Theatre and Dance, as an understanding of audiences should be at the centre of any application for touring and presentation.
