Funding Criteria

When you apply for funding from Creative Scotland, we’ll ask you to consider six Criteria.

These cover the areas of:

  • Quality and Ambition
  • Engagement
  • Equalities, Diversity and Inclusion
  • Environmental Sustainability
  • Fair Work
  • International

These provide supporting information which will help with some of the questions you’ll be asked in your application.

They reflect Creative Scotland’s Strategic Priorities, the priorities for our funding, and what we want to see happen in the culture and creative sector across all parts of Scotland as a result.

You will not be expected to be able to meet each Criteria fully at application stage. Instead, your application will be considered in full, and not on the basis of any one Criteria or response.

Download our Strategic Framework, and learn more about the Criteria and how they relate to your application.

Creative Scotland - Strategic Framework

We've established a refreshed Strategic Framework to guide our work. This Framework is aligned to our formal remit and legislative duties, setting out our broader aims as well as our priorities for supporting future recovery and renewal of the arts, screen and creative industries across Scotland.
