With support from The National Lottery, Creative Scotland’s £1million Touring Fund for Theatre and Dance eligibility criteria are now live and will close for applications at 14:00 on Monday 31 October 2022.

Since the Fund’s inception in 2018, over £7million has enabled a wide range of acclaimed new, and re-staged, theatre and dance shows including circus for babies, gritty drama, and musical comedy.

For this round, although work of all scales is eligible to apply, the priority for funding will be work that will tour to mid-scale and/or large-scale venues. This priority reflects gaps in provision from the work supported in previous rounds. A mid-scale venue has an audience capacity of 150-350; a large-scale venue has an audience capacity of over 350.

Laura Mackenzie Stuart, Head of Theatre at Creative Scotland said:

“It is with thanks to the generosity of National Lottery players, this funding will provide vital employment opportunities for artists, producers, companies, venues and all the talented people who work hard behind the scenes to make the theatre a magical experience for audiences, after what has been an incredibly challenging and disrupted period.

“After a busy summer of productions taking place across Scotland, the 7th round of the Touring Fund will, once again, support venues and producers to present innovative, quality work and to encourage more audiences to re-engage with their local venues. Supporting work through this fund allows more artists to share their work and gives audiences greater choice.”

Please see the following links for details of supported shows in July 2022, December 2021, May 2021, December 2019, June 2019 and December 2018.
