The Four Nations International Fund supports those working in the arts and creative industries across the UK nations, together with their counterparts in Europe and beyond.
With co-investment from Arts Council England, Arts Council Northern Ireland, Arts Council Wales / Wales Arts International and Creative Scotland, the second round of the fund will support in-person, digital or hybrid activity including exchanges, residencies, partnership development, co-creation and networking, with priority given to applications experimenting with innovative models of international collaboration.
The Four Nations International Fund pilot opened in October 2021 with a budget of £100,000. It supported individuals and organisations to develop international partnerships and co-creation projects.
In January 2022, we announced that funding had been awarded to 38 projects bringing together 82 UK and 48 international partners based in over 24 different countries, from Mexico to Kenya, Barbados to Australia and throughout Europe and USA.
In November 2023, we announced that a second round of funding had been awarded to 60 partners from across the four UK nations and 50 international partners across 25 different countries, from Portugal to Lebanon; Norway to Nigeria; and Canada to Bosnia & Herzegovina.
For the second round of the fund, applicants could request between £1,000 and £7,500 from a total budget of £320,000 for in-person, digital or hybrid activity including exchanges, residencies, partnership development, co-creation and networking, with priority given to applications experimenting with innovative models of international collaboration.
