Policy Officer (Maternity Cover)

Secondment Opportunity or Fixed Term – 6 months  
Full-time (36 hours per week) 
Salary: £29,285 (Grade C) pro rata plus pension and benefits

We are looking for a Policy Officer to work as part of the Strategy directorate and support the development of policies against Creative Scotland’s legislative duties and strategic priorities and plan by assembling, analysing, and disseminating information for internal partners. This role will consult with partners, stakeholders and other external organisations, and providing advice, guidance and support on policies internally and to individuals and organisations across the sector. You will be responsible for identifying any changes to the wider policy context and responding accordingly.  

The successful candidate will have experience of consulting, influencing, negotiation and facilitating – including the ability of collaborative working. You will have an understanding of Scotland’s legislative framework and can demonstrate the ability to quickly acquire and synthesis knowledge on unfamiliar subjects. You will require knowledge and understanding of cultural policy and how this relates to arts, screen and creative industries. Experience of working independently and proactively, with limited supervision to complete tasks and projects, along with a commitment to our core values, are all essential.
