Dance Officer

Permanent contract
Salary: £28,711 plus pension and benefits 

Full time (36 hours per week)

We are looking for a Dance Officer to join us and support Creative Scotland’s work in the context of Strategic Plan and our Annual Plan. You will be an active member of the Dance team and will assess and make recommendations on a range of funding applications, projects and funding.

You will provide support on the strategic development of dance across Scotland and be expected to lead on several different projects and support the wider work of the Dance Team across a variety of different programmes.

Our ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience and knowledge of the dance sector, dance development and working with dance artists, dance organisations, venues and/or festivals. You may have a dance practice yourself, have experience of supporting others to participate in dance activity, or have worked in an administrative role in a dance organisation. Strong interpersonal skills and team working, the ability to develop and establish relationships and initiate partnerships, and a commitment to our core values are all essential.

An understanding of the relationship the dance sector has with other sectors, such as education and health, would also be highly desirable, as would an overview of the arts, screen and creative industries in Scotland.
