Glasgow 2014

With over 12000 events taking place across the country, the Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme was a national celebration, providing opportunities for the whole of Scotland to get involved in Glasgow’s hosting of the XX Commonwealth Games.

Highlights of the Programme included: GENERATION, a nationwide programme of exhibitions and events marking 25 years of contemporary art in Scotland; the East End Social’s Last Big Weekend in Richmond Park; Scotland's first inclusive dance festival Gathered TogetherHannah Tuulikki's Away with the Birds on the Isle of Canna; and Glasgow UNESCO City of Music's Big Big Sing project.

Capturing the Programme on Film

To celebrate the creative and cultural response to the Games, Creative Scotland and Glasgow Life commissioned filmmaker Martin Clark to produce a film featuring a number of the projects. These projects represent just a few of the thousands of artists, cultural organisations, partners, agencies and communities who were part of the Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme.
