Chamber Music Scotland launches Classical EDI Development Fund

Published: 15 Mar 2023

Chamber Music Scotland has launched a fund designed to support individual artists and representatives of arts organisations and creative businesses to identify and develop pathways to greater diversity and inclusivity in the Scottish classical music sector.

Supported by Creative Scotland, the Classical EDI Development Fund will distribute small grants of up to £2,500 for a range of professional development activities that will inform and enhance future EDI practice in Scotland’s classical music sector.

The fund will support Scotland-based recipients to explore new ways of working, forge new connections and collaborations, and share knowledge and ideas from across the classical music community.

  • Applications to this fund open at 10am on Wednesday 15 March 2023, with a deadline of 11.59pm on Wednesday 19 April 2023.
  • Applicants must complete an application form describing the activity, including information on the timeframe and budget. You can download an application form on the Chamber Music Scotland website.

Paul Tracey, Chief Executive at Chamber Music Scotland said: “We are proud to be working with Creative Scotland to bring this new opportunity to the Scottish classical music sector. We see the Classical EDI Development Fund and related forums as a positive step towards greater diversity within classical music, supporting activities and shared learning which will enrich the genre and help foster an exciting future for the sector in Scotland.”

The Classical EDI Development Fund is administered by Chamber Music Scotland on behalf of Creative Scotland.
