The Touring Fund has been developed in consultation with members of the touring Theatre and Dance sector, in collaboration with the Federation of Scottish Theatre, and is a response to the recommendations of the Review of Theatre and Dance Touring in Scotland published in April 2017.  The first round of applications for the £2m Fund for 2019/20 opened on 2 August 2018, with a deadline of 6 November 2018.

Iain Munro, Creative Scotland Acting Chief Executive, said: “The co-creation of the Touring Fund with members of the touring Theatre and Dance sector, in collaboration with the Federation of Scottish Theatre, signifies a major step forward in our shared endeavour to address the challenges set out in the Review of Touring Theatre and Dance, strengthening opportunities for theatre and dance artists, venues and audiences.

“This call-out represents our commitment to continue this way of working and provides the opportunity for a broad range of perspectives to inform funding decisions, working alongside the expertise of our specialist staff with extensive knowledge of Scotland’s theatre and dance sectors.”
