Excellence and experimentation
Excellence and experimentation is one of five ambitions we reported on in our 2017/18 Annual Review.
We support individuals and organisations across Scotland to develop and produce high quality work, both through funding and by helping them to create time and space to develop their practice. The first of our 10-year Ambitions is that excellence and experimentation across the arts, screen and creative industries are recognised and valued.
2017/18 Project Profiles
Sonica is a year-round programme of events dedicated to world-class visual sonic arts, punctuated by a biennial autumn festival in Glasgow.
The Borders Heritage Festival is, as you might expect, a celebration of history, heritage and archaeology. In this way, the festival looks to the past, and celebrates all that has come before us. But through its commissions programme, the festival also looks to the future.
Bright Side Studios and Janis Claxton Dance have collaborated on an innovative new digital work, capturing the movements of professional dancers and projecting them into a Virtual Reality experience.
We speak to writer and director Nicholas Barton-Wines, whose production "How to Save the World...ish" will feature at the Chrysalis Youth Theatre Festival from Friday 17 November.
