Evaluation of Creative Scotland COVID-19 Emergency Funding Programmes
Across the arts, screen and creative industries, we have distributed over £150 million emergency funding support between March 2020 and March 2022, in addition to the awards made through our annual budget.
This equates to more than 18,300 funding awards to both individuals and organisations – around 14 times the number usually made in any given year.
Evaluations of this emergency funding support have been conducted by EKOS, looking at:
- The outputs of the emergency funding programmes
- The outcomes of the programmes for the individuals and organisations they targeted, including an assessment of the impact of each emergency funding route against their stated aims
- The collective impact of the emergency funds on the sustainability of the creative sector in Scotland and the complex networks within them
- The effectiveness of internal and external processes put in place to deliver the programmes, any learning for future operational activity, and how they impacted both operations and our applicants and stakeholders
The first phase evaluation covers the period between March 2020 and September 2021.
The second phase evaluation covers the period between January and March 2022.
