  • Scottish creatives invited to apply for professional development funding to develop their businesses
  • Applications open 2pm, Tuesday 18 October with a deadline of 12 noon, Tuesday 29 November 2022.

Scotland’s creative businesses are invited to take advantage of new funding to help future proof their businesses.

Individuals, organisations and creative businesses in Scotland can now apply to the Go See Share initiative, supported by the National Lottery through Creative Scotland.

The scheme enables creatives to explore and share new ways to expand their business activity and make them more financially sustainable by connecting with and learning from international creative business models.

Funding awards of between £3,000 and £10,000 will enable the cohort to identify export opportunities, forge international connections and profile Scotland’s successes in the global marketplace. The knowledge and insights gained will be shared with the industry back in Scotland, helping to make the sector stronger and more sustainable.

Jessica Bonehill, Creative Industries Officer at Creative Scotland said: “International collaboration and exchange are vital for new ideas and new connections between nations to flourish. This fund provides vital opportunity for Scotland’s creatives to connect with and learn from their UK and international counterparts. The learning will inform business models and future practice and will be shared with the industry back in Scotland, helping to make the sector stronger and more sustainable.”

At a glance, previously funded activities include:

  • Dundee design studio Agency of None explored different models for a creative space for designers in Dundee, learning from Baltic Creative CIC in Liverpool, Mistelle Quarter in Dumfries, Duke Studios in Leeds, SWG3, The Melting Pot, Edinburgh Print Makers and Scope Real Estates.
  • Learning from the Centre for Alternative Technology, Tradical, the Institute for Carbon Management, HYBRIT and Stedelijk Museum and Rijksmuseum, is informing Scotland's The Scupture Placement Group about the production of sustainable raw materials and changes that can be made to enact organisation's environmental policies.
  • Children’s Book publisher Barrington Stoke attended the Bologna Children’s Book Fair to meet with international publishers to raise their profile, explore alternative and more environmentally friendly solutions to international shipping and printing following significant increases in shipping costs for publishers, and meet with illustrators.
