We’re asking all organisations to consider the impact of the changing climate on their operations and programmes of work. We would like to know about impact on staff, building(s) and audiences. Organisations might create a risk register, for example, in order to understand the climate risk that staff are exposed to in a permanent location. It might consider factors like travel to access the organisation, how likely extreme weather events are, and operating during extreme temperatures.
We recognise that everyone from individual practitioners, artist-led collectives, touring and large-scale organisations are all at completely different stages of a journey to net zero and addressing the climate emergency. We’re looking for organisations to be working towards understanding that impact on the planet and being driven to make effort in the positive direction, demonstrating ownership and accountability with regard to the climate emergency.
There are a number of resources available from Creative Scotland, and Creative Carbon Scotland are running a series of starting point sessions running between September and Christmas for assistance in the near future on these areas.
