Ashe Hussain was a member of the first Creative Scotland EDI Advisory Group. She has a background in film and television, with expertise in business development for production companies, diversity, talent development, and training. She is currently the Business Development Manager for FOCUS at Film City Futures, where she provides support to foster the growth of independent production companies based in Scotland.
Ashe began her media career as a producer at BBC Scotland and has since worked with a variety of screen organisations across both the public and private sectors, as well as screen agencies and other broadcasters. She has managed several training and mentoring courses supported and/or funded by Creative Scotland, Independent Producers Scotland, Creative Skillset (now ScreenSkills), and Skills Development Scotland.
In addition to addressing EDI issues in the sector through training initiatives, Ashe has participated in discussion panels and advisory groups focused on increasing diverse talent and content, both on- and off-screen.
She served on several advisory groups, committees, and jury panels for the creative industries. Beyond that, she has contributed to the Children’s Panel and served as a mentor for Mosaic (a joint initiative between BITC and The Prince's Trust). She is currently a member of the Ofcom Advisory Committee, Scotland.
