Are you passionate about supporting Scotland’s vibrant literature sector? Creative Scotland is looking for a dedicated Literature Officer to join our team and play a pivotal role in advancing our mission as outlined in our Strategic and Annual Plans.
Salary: £33,997 pro rata plus pension and benefits
Grade: C
Contract: Full time/Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week
Location: Further opportunities to discuss working arrangements, for example hybrid/home working will be offered. The role will be based in our Edinburgh office.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and provide recommendations on funding applications and specialist literature projects.
- Lead and support a range of projects across literature and publishing programmes.
- Engage and collaborate with cultural organisations and key stakeholders to enhance our work in Literature and Publishing.
- Represent Creative Scotland in stakeholder and public forums.
- Develop partnerships locally and internationally to advance Scotland’s literature sector.
What We’re Looking For
Our ideal candidate will have:
- In-depth knowledge of Scotland’s literature and publishing sectors.
- Experience in literature or readership development, with a background in working with diverse writers and literature professionals.
- Desirable: Knowledge of Gaelic and Scots language.
- Strong skills in administration, project management, and resource management.
- Proven ability to assess proposals and produce clear, detailed reports and recommendations.
- Understanding of Scotland’s creative industries, specifically within Literature and Publishing.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external partners.
- Desirable: Experience with evaluation and monitoring processes and a commitment to Creative Scotland’s core values.
