Artistic and Creative Review Framework

An Artistic and Creative Review Framework has been established to create an open dialogue with Regularly Funded Organisations (RFOs) regarding the artistic and creative quality of their work.

The Framework will help Creative Scotland, RFOs and other stakeholders to support a culture of continuous improvement and to be clearer on how we consider quality and excellence across the wide range of creative work that RFOs deliver. We will do this through a process enabling three perspectives on the work of the RFOs:

  1. Self Review (by the RFO)
  2. Creative Scotland Review (by Creative Scotland’s Lead Officer for the RFO)
  3. Peer Review (by independent, relevant expertise from the sector)

Peer Review enables us to gather impartial perspectives on the work of RFOs and is an important part of the Review Framework.

Further to the call-out for Peer Reviewers in February 2016, 45 independent Peer Reviewers have been appointed and contracted until the end of March 2017. The Reviewers represent a broad range of experience and expertise across art forms and have been drawn from more than 280 applications that we received in response to the call out.
