Artistic and Creative Review Framework

In April 2016 Creative Scotland launched an Artistic and Creative Review Framework to create an open dialogue with Regularly Funded Organisations (RFOs) about the quality of their artistic and creative work.

The process was based on enabling three perspectives on the work:

  1. Self Review (by the RFO)
  2. Creative Scotland Review (by Creative Scotland’s Lead Officer for the RFO)
  3. Peer Review (by independent, relevant expertise from the sector)

Working with 45 independent Peer Reviewers, 270 Reviews of artistic and creative work have been carried out.

We are now carrying out an evaluation of the Review Framework, and are investigating the development of a ‘toolkit’ version which will share the principles of the Review Framework with the wider creative and cultural sector.
