Update on Regular Funding - May 2017

Published: 04 May 2017

3 April was the deadline for applications to the Regular Funding Programme for organisations seeking funding over the period April 2018 to March 2021.

We have received 184 eligible applications requesting a total of £153m for the three-year period.

I'd like to thank all organisations which have submitted an application. We understand the careful thought and hard work that this entails and appreciate the value of the information and inspiring plans that organisations have set out.

The applications provide clear and resounding evidence of the strength of the arts, screen and creative industries in Scotland and demonstrate the depth of creative excellence, ambition and potential that exists here.

They also underline the vital nature of public funding for culture, and the need for us all to continue to make the case for that funding and the value it delivers, socially, culturally and economically.

All applications have now been logged on our systems and, as set out in our published Guidance (PDF), our specialist staff will be assessing them in detail over the summer period.

Our Board will announce its decisions once we have received confirmation of next year’s draft budget from the Scottish Government, which we expect towards the end of this year.

We will provide more detail on specific dates for the announcement of decisions once we have more clarity on the dates for the Scottish Government budget. We don’t plan to make any further updates on Regular Funding 2018-21 until then.

In the meantime, our Enquiries service is always available to answer any queries you may have.

Best wishes,

Iain Munro
Deputy Chief Executive, Creative Scotland
