International Trade and Showcase Roadshows come to Glasgow

On Tuesday 30 August Creative Scotland and the Department for International Trade (DIT, formerly UKTI) host two roadshow events in Glasgow for artists and creative professionals interested in attending some of the world’s biggest and most influential trade and showcase events. The first event will highlight interactive opportunities, with the second event dedicated to music.

The Interactive Briefing will focus on SXSW, Mipcom, MipTV and Midem plus other opportunities through DIT in North America with guest speakers Haileigh Meyers (DIT Texas), Una Johnston (SXSW) and Javier Lopez (Mipcom).

The Music Briefing will provide an overview of some of the major music events including Reeperbahn, WOMEX, Eurosonic, SXSW, Canadian Music Week, Sound City, Great Escape and Midem with guest speakers Javier Lopez (Midem), Una Johnston (SXSW), Phil Patterson (DIT Music Specialist), along with guests from trade association and collection societies.

The events will give attendees an opportunity to:

  • Discover how Department for International Trade (DIT, formerly UKTI) can help develop your Creative/Digital business internationally
  • Find out about conferencing events and which events are right for you
  • Learn how to showcase your business/music/artists
  • Learn do’s and dont’s – make the most of your time at events
  • Find out about available funding and support
  • Meet industry trade associations and collection societies
  • Learn how the DIT activity at SXSW interactive will differ in 2017

Tickets for the events are free but limited and must be booked over Eventbrite.
