Scottish Horror Comes Home (11/7/2013)
Ciarán Foy’s debut feature film, urban horror CITADEL, is released this Friday 12 July 2013.
Written and directed by Ciarán Foy, based on his own personal experiences of agoraphobia, CITADEL features rising star Aneurin Barnard alongside prolific Scottish actor James Cosmo, Wunmi Mosaku and Jake Willson. The film is produced by Brian Coffey of Glasgow-based Production company Sigma Films.
Citadel is an Irish/Scottish co-production by Blinder Films and Sigma Films, and is financed by the Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board and Creative Scotland.
A Creative Scotland spokesperson commented: 'We are delighted that Citadel will be released in cinemas in Scotland, where Scottish audiences will get to enjoy this stylish and truly scary horror. Working in partnership with UK distributor Metrodome, Sigma will provide a richer experience of the film with preview screenings and question and answer sessions with the filmmakers, creating a real buzz around the film's release.'
Brian Coffey, Producer, commented: "Citadel is a disturbing, powerful and altogether original psychological horror film, we are very excited that it will be released in Scottish cinema's this week. It is great that Scotland is now getting known as a place to shoot horror movies. We are proud that Citadel is part of the new wave of horror films being made here."
Citadel is in cinemas nationwide from Friday.
