Scotland Re:Designed Opens Showcase at the Lighthouse Glasgow (26/06/2012)
After a successful debut in New York at Scotland Week 2012, Scotland Re:Designed is back on home soil for it's Scottish Premiere.

The Lighthouse, Glasgow plays host to the SR:D pop-up shop and designer showcase, which will be open daily from the 28 June - 1 July. This showcase will allow the designers to display their Autumn/Winter 2012 collections to press, industry and the general public and sell their current collections in the pop-up shop.
Friday 29 June sees Vauxhall Fashion Scout Founder and Graduate Fashion Week Director, Martyn Roberts hold a mentoring event, in the Scotland Re:Designed showroom at the Lighthouse, Glasgow. Appearing with him will be Sarah Murray, the owner and head buyer at Jane Davidson, Edinburgh. The event will be a great opportunity to ask these decision makers how they got ahead in the industry. This informal, workshop style event will run from 2pm til 3.30pm, this will then be followed by a Scottish Academy of Fashion and Scotland Re:Designed Fashion Show running from 4pm-6pm. This event is free and open to students, graduates and those involved with, or interested in the industry.
The five winners of the new Mandors and SR:D competition will also unveil their winning designs at the showroom, asking designers to submit a garment design. Their designs will be on display at the Lighthouse during the duration of the event, after this they will be displayed in-store at Mandors, Glasgow. The five winning designers are Scottish Fashion Award nominated Obscure Couture, Danni McWilliams, Cassandra Belanger of the Stitchery who is working with print designer Jo Faulkner, Leelah MacAulay and Heather Gillespie.
Director of Creative Development at Creative Scotland, and a panel member, Caroline Parkinson said: "Scotland Re:Designed is a chance to showcase Scotland's fashion and textile talent to buyers from across the country. Presenting the best of their Autumn/Winter collections Scotland Re:designed at the Lighthouse a strong platform for the 12 designers to attract new business and secure new relationships that will enhance their business.’
