Ideas Bank
Creative Scotland values risk and will find ways to enable bold, new and different ideas. The Ideas Bank is one mechanism by which we hope to receive new ideas from the creative sector. We recognise that on occasions an idea will emerge that does not neatly fit the Investment Programmes. We would like you to share good ideas with us to see whether they might be realised with either some form of investment or support from other Creative Scotland partners. The Ideas Bank is not a means to access immediate investment.
All the ideas submitted will be looked at regularly at an Ideas Forum. We will discuss the potential within the Ideas Forum and let you know whether or not we are able to play a role in taking the idea forward. The Ideas Forum will be made up initially of officers within Creative Scotland. Once it has been road tested we will review the way it works and reserve the right to call on external expertise. Proposals to the Ideas Bank may come from individuals or organisations. The proposer retains the intellectual property.
If you choose to post your idea through the Ideas Bank it does not exclude you from an Investment Route at a later date. However, please do not submit your idea to the Ideas Bank if you have already submitted it via an Investment Programme. The point of the Ideas Bank is to open up conversations about multi-faceted ideas that may require a different approach, different financial instruments or more than one partner to take them forward.
By using the Ideas Bank, the judgement of the Ideas Forum will be a major factor in the outcome and in the potential of the partnership with Creative Scotland. We anticipate that because of the strength of the imagination of the creative sector there will be many more ideas of this nature than we can engage with in some cases we may suggest that you come back at a later date. Your idea will be acknowledged electronically and you will receive an outcome within 8 weeks. If you have not heard from us it is because we will not offer feedback to all applicants.
