TRC Media - Training and Development

TRC Media were supported to deliver their industry-focussed training and development programme for professionals working in TV, games, software, advertising, digital marketing, CG animation, second screen, social networking, apps and publishing.

Among the activities supported are:

Special Edition
Women are under-represented at Board level in the digital/tech sector in Scotland. To address this imbalance, Special Edition is a professional development programme that seeks to help ambitious, talented women fulfill their potential and reach the very top.

New Horizons
New Horizons is TRC media’s talent training opportunity aimed at development and senior research staff. It has been developed to support growth in the amount of UK network television commissions coming from Scotland and Northern Ireland, and is designed for Factual, Specialist Factual and Factual Entertainment TV development personnel including freelancers and staff working in production companies and broadcasters with the aim of boosting network commissions from Scotland and Northern Ireland. New Horizons will run from August 2016 to January 2017 and consists of six high-end training sessions.

Cross Creative
Cross Creative is a transformative training and development programme for senior tech / creative professionals in Scotland’s digital media sector. It supports professional growth, and encourages a competitive edge by allowing access to some of the world’s most exciting and innovative tech, creative and digital companies in San Francisco and Silicon Valley, plus workshops aimed at tackling business issues, building confidence, ambition and the determination to succeed.

International Development
International Development is aimed at senior staff who develop and sell factual and factual entertainment content. The US remains by far the biggest market for UK content – it comprises almost half of the £1bn annual world sales total. This programme offers intelligence and insight on world markets with particular focus on the US East Coast market, offering the opportunity to meet distributors, agents, finance and negotiation experts and others with in depth knowledge of foreign markets. Delegates will also visit New York and Washington DC to meet senior channel commissioners suited to their areas of expertise and interest.
