Large Capital funding supported organisations to improve, refurbish and/or develop cultural facilities which offered enhanced access to, or the presentation and enjoyment of, the arts and film. The programme also provided funding for the renewal and refreshment of equipment.
The Large Capital Fund is now closed to applications.
Creative Scotland currently has £30m budgeted in the Large Capital Programme for projects which are at various stages of development. These projects, which will improve and develop the infrastructure for the arts across the country from Dumfries to Aberdeen, are set to come to fruition over the next 3 to 4 years.
We are currently reviewing previous capital investments and looking to what the future needs for the arts in Scotland are likely to be. If you are planning a Large Capital project we would be interested in hearing about your plans, so please contact us. Our position remains that we are not inviting any new proposals for support for Large Capital funding.
We will continue to support smaller capital projects through our Open Project Fund. You can apply for up to £100k (in exceptional circumstances, and with our prior permission, up to £150k), for projects for which the total costs are estimated not to exceed £200k. More information on Open Project Funding is available on our website here.
